Our volunteers help care for more than 10,500 cats, dogs, livestock and exotic animals every year. We are dedicated to rescuing small breed dogs, small reptiles and select exotic pets primarily from public shelters and other rescues.

This program involves volunteers going to various locations around san diego county (such as shopping malls, stores, etc.), setting up a booth and soliciting donations for the center as well as talking with the public about center programs and handing out brochures. San diego humane society has a canine volunteer program that helps educate children at our shelter and in the classroom, visits community members at outreach events and brings joy to those who are no longer able to own a pet through pet. We rescue and rehabilitate unwanted, abandoned and neglected dogs and find them loving happy homes.
